China adds six US firms, which include Shield AI, Inc., Sierra Nevada Corporation, Cyberlux Corporation, Edge Autonomy Operations LLC, Group W, and Hudson Technologies Co, to its unreliable entity list, effective from 12:01 April 10, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on Wednesday.

A spokesperson of the Ministry stated that these firms, in disregard of strong opposition from China, have either participated in arms sales to Taiwan or have undertaken so-called military technology cooperation with Taiwan, seriously harming China's national sovereignty, security, and development interests. China will hold them accountable according to relevant laws and regulations.

A spokesperson of the Commerce Ministry stated that China has always handled the unreliable entity list issue prudently, taking action only against a very small number of foreign entities that harm China's national security. The spokesperson emphasized that foreign entities that are honest and law-abiding have no reason to be concerned. The Chinese government continues to welcome enterprises from around the world to invest and operate in China, and is committed to providing a stable, fair, and predictable business environment for law-abiding foreign-invested enterprises in China.
