Wang Huning Meets with Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic Tomio Okamura

On July 23, 2026, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met in Beijing with Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic Tomio Okamura.

Wang Huning stated that the friendly communication between the people of China and the Czech Republic has a long history. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Czech strategic partnership, and the two countries share huge potential and broad prospects for bilateral cooperation. China is willing to join hands with the Czech side to strengthen practical cooperation and promote the traditional friendship to regain vitality, while respecting each other’s core interests and major concerns. Wang Huning introduced China’s principled positions on issues related to Taiwan and Xizang, saying that the CPPCC stands ready to contribute to promoting the healthy and stable development of China-Czech relations.

Tomio Okamura stated that the Czech Republic adheres to the one-China policy, which serves as an important pillar of bilateral relations. The Czech side is willing to take the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries as an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China, and promote the development of bilateral relations. The Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic is ready to play an active role in advancing exchanges and cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, tourism, direct flights, and people-to-people ties, so as to enhance friendship between the two peoples.
