On 5 September 2013, Spokesperson for the Chinese delegation and Director General of the Information Department of the Chinese foreign ministry Qin Gang gave a briefing to the press at the Press Center of the Chinese Delegation to the G20 St. Petersburg Summit. He briefed the press about President Xi Jinping's bilateral meetings with countries and answered questions concerning the meeting between the Chinese and Russian presidents, cooperation among BRICS countries, China-Japan relations and Syria. Journalists, including those from People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China Daily, Phoenix Satellite TV, RIA Novosti, Associated Press, Reuters and Asahi Shimbun, attended the event.
