On August 12 2016, Minister Wu Xi held a friendly-exchange event for the ASEAN Women's Circle-DC (AWC-DC) in the Chinese Embassy. More than 80 guests joined the event, including spouses of the ASEAN ambassadors, female diplomats and diplomats' spouses and children.

In her welcome remarks, Minister Wu Xi spoke highly of the good neighborly and friendly China-ASEAN partnership, and said that the Chinese embassy has been an important venue that bridges all our friends. She welcomes ASEAN friends to have more people-to-people exchanges with China as well as the Chinese Embassy, to promote mutual understanding and friendship.

Madam Khin Myint Kyi from Myanmar Embassy representing the AWC-DC, extended gratitude to Minister Wu Xi and the Chinese Embassy for the warm reception. She expressed willingness to promote ASEAN-China friendly communication and mutual understanding. Guests also had a tour of the chancery building and enjoyed some art collections of the Chinese Embassy.

The AWC-DC is a non-profit organization based in Washington DC. The visit to Chinese Embassy is a part of AWC's cultural activities.
