On October 30, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in the United States and the National Geographic Society jointly hosted the “Connecting Through Nature” China-U.S. National Parks Photography Exhibition. Around 120 guests attended the event, including representatives from the environmental, photography, philanthropic, and media communities in the United States.
The exhibition featured 22 photographs taken by Chinese and American photographers in national parks in each other's countries. It aimed to present the two countries’ achievements in advancing ecological conservation.
The Embassy staff provided guests with an in-depth introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, highlighting China's notable achievements in green development. They also shared inspiring stories of people-to-people cooperation between China and the U.S. in environmental protection, and called on the two countries to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, deepen environmental cooperation and work together to protect our shared planet.
American guests recalled working with Chinese photographers and how nature had helped them connect, understand one another, and build friendships. They saw their collaboration as an example of how nature brings Americans and Chinese closer, and hoped to do more to promote environmental cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
