On October 16, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in the United States hosted a cultural dialogue——“Mid-Autumn in Music and Poetry”. The event highlighted the cultural significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival, provided a platform for sharing experiences and insights on China-U.S. cultural cooperation, and fostered mutual learning among civilizations. Minister Tang Zhiwen attended the event and delivered remarks. Minister-Counselor for cultural and tourism affairs Chen Chunmei and more than 40 guests from the U.S. cultural and tourism sectors joined the event.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the opportunities for cultural exchanges between China and the United States arising from the meeting between the two countries’ heads of state, China-U.S. people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and ways to encourage more Americans to visit China. They also exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cultural cooperation and identifying new avenues for mutually beneficial collaboration.
