On May 29, Chinese Embassy in the U.S. hosted China Higher Education Open House. Minister TANG Zhiwen delivered remarks at the opening ceremony. 28 Chinese universities and colleges showcased to the American participants. Over 200 guests including teachers and students attended the event.

Minister Tang introduced the important common understandings of the two presidents’ meeting in Beijing and the profound connotation of “a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability”. He emphasized that the more bilateral relationship moves forward, the more significance China-U.S. education cooperation and exchange carries. Tang hopes that that visionary people from the educational sectors of both sides will leverage educational openness to foster people-to-people exchanges, and utilize youth interactions to deepen friendship and mutual trust, thereby translating friendly intentions into more substantive cooperation. China welcomes more American students to study in China, to experience the country firsthand and make their own discoveries in China.
Chinese and American education experts delivered presentations on educational policies as well as practices in exchange and cooperation between the two nations. Additionally, a specialized dialogue on vocational education and "Study in China" Fair was held.
