On May 4, Minister Qiu Wenxing delivered remarks at CGCC 2026 Annual Business Survey Report Launch&Reception.

Minister Qiu offered three messages to the business communities of China and the United States. First, he urged American companies to be quick and agile to seize the opportunities offered by China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. Second, he encouraged Chinese enterprises to be patient and resilient to tap the potential of the U.S. market. Third, he called on companies from both countries to do what is right, rather than what is merely politically correct—particularly by telling compelling stories of mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to foster a sound understanding of China and China—U.S. relations across American society.

Ms. Zhang Jianyu, Chairman of the CGCCUSA; Mr. Duncan Willson, Deputy Assistant Secretaryat the U.S. Department of Commerce; Mr. Everett Wakai, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy, Beijing; as well as member companies of the Chamber and representatives of Chinese enterprises attending the SelectUSA—about 180 participants in total—were present at the reception.
