On May 2, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States is to join over 70 embassies in the Around the World Embassy Tour from 10am to 5 pm.

This year marks the 7th time for the Chinese Embassy to participate in the Passport D.C. event. The open house this year, themed as “Discover Shaanxi: Where the Silk Road Starts, Wonders Await”, features China’s northwestern province Shaanxi, home to the Terracotta Armys silent majesty, thirteen dynasties of imperial history, the legendary starting point of the Silk Road, breathtaking sacred mountains like Mount Hua, vibrant folk arts such as Qinqiang opera and shadow puppetry, and a mouthwatering cuisine of hand-pulled Biang Biang noodles, savory roujiamo (Chinese Hamburger), and hearty lamb soup with crumbled flatbread.
