On April 21st, the Chinese Embassy in the United States held a celebration event for the International Chinese Language Day. DCM & Minister Qiu Wenxing delivered opening remarks. Over 500 teachers and students from local schools and the “Henan Meets the World: Kung Fu·Culture·China”Art Troupe from Henan province participated in the event.

Minister Qiu said in his speech that Chinese language is the only ideographic script still in use today, embodying the Chinese nation's observation and reflection on all things in the world. It is the key to understanding Eastern wisdom and embracing the opportunities of the times. China's "15th Five Year Plan" will share more development opportunities with the world.Qiu used three characters "人"（people）, "信"（trust）, and "和"（harmony） as examples to point out that China and the United States should support each other, accumulate mutual trust, and coexist harmoniously. Qiu welcomes more American friends to learn Chinese and visit China in person. He calls on everyone to use Chinese as a medium to spark colorful dreams and sow the seeds of friendship and understanding between China and the United States.

Guests watched martial arts, dance, paper cuttings, Yu Opera and other programs and participated in the interactive of cultural experience activities. They praised Chinese culture with thunderous applause and heartfelt cheers.
