On October 26, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in the United States was invited to participate in the Mitchell Park Fall Fun Day Event. The event, hosted by the non-profit community organization Friends of Mitchell Park, attracted nearly 1,000 local residents to participate in cultural experiences hosted by over 20 foreign embassies, cultural institutions, and community organizations.
At the Chinese Embassy’s booths, local residents experienced Chinese calligraphy and made handwritten bookmarks under the guidance of embassy staff. Panda and pumpkin-themed coloring, beading, and other fun activities and souvenirs attracted numerous panda fans. The face painting program, which combined traditional Chinese patterns with Halloween elements, attracted a long stream of visitors. Embassy staff also promoted Chinese tourism on site, distributing brochures on Chinese tourist destinations, electronic payments, and visa facilitation measures. They also gave detailed answers to questions about traveling and studying in China, inviting American friends to see the country first hand and break information cocoons and bridge cognitive gaps through in-person experience.
Local residents expressed their keen interest and fondness for Chinese culture, and said that the event had enhanced their understanding of Chinese culture and desire to travel to China.
