On July 31, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in the United States held the “China Journey” open house in partnership with “Things to Do DC”. Minister Counselor Liu Pengyu, Spokesperson of the Embassy, hosted the event. More than a hundred local people braved the rain to join the event.

The Embassy updated the guests on China's policy steps to facilitate cross-border travel, including 240-hour visa-free transit policy open to citizens of 55 countries, including the United States. The goal is to welcome more international travelers to visit the country.

The guests immersed themselves in traditional Chinese Medicine culture, enjoying the performances of Chinese and Western fusion folk music and dance, weaving auspicious Chinese knots and molding creative clay sculptures and participating in fun quizzes. They interacted with the diplomats from the embassy, chatting about Chinese cities, cuisine, and trendy toys, and making plans to embark on a journey to China. An American dance teacher led the popular “BlueprintSupreme”Tik Tok dance with the guests, kicking the summer energy into high gear.
