On April 2, the Chinese Embassy in the United States held the "Tea for Harmony • Flowers in Blossoms" Cultural Symposium. More than 20 representatives from American libraries, museums, film and entertainment companies and cultural associations, as well as artists and experts attended the meeting and shared success stories in China-US cultural exchanges.  Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy Jing Quan delivered remarks at the event. Minister Counselor for cultural and tourism affairs Chen Chunmei also attended the event.

Charge d'affaires Jing pointed out that China-US relations are facing difficulties currently. Affected by various "echo chambers", there are still many "cognitive deficits" between the two sides. In particular, face-to-face communication and exchanges need to be increased to reduce misunderstandings and misjudgments and build up mutual trust and consensus. China is committed to expanding and deepening cultural exchanges and promoting the stabilization and improvement of China-US relations. Last year, the two-way flow of tourists between China and the United States recovered to 3 million, with 100 direct flights per week, but there is still a long way to go compared with the 5.5 million mutual visits per year and 330 direct flights per week before the pandemic. The two countries should find ways to encourage their people to visit each other more and appreciate each other's history, culture, scenery and food, so as to further consolidate the public support China-US relations. Only when China-US relations stabilize can the world be safer and more peaceful.

The representatives actively shared their experience and discussed in depth topics such as the opportunities and challenges facing China-US cultural exchanges, the successful experience of China-US cultural and artistic cooperation, how to encourage Americans to travel to China, and the application and impacts of AI in the cultural area, exploring a win-win path for China-US cultural cooperation.
