On November 2, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in the United States and China Media Group (CMG) co-hosted the “China’s Governance and Worldwide Development Global Dialogue” U.S. Session. Ambassador Xie Feng delivered a keynote speech, in which he introduced the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the guiding principles from the session. Ambassador Xie stressed that China's success hinges on our Party, so we must ensure full and rigorous Party self-governance. A better CPC means a better China, which in turn contributes to a better world.
Ambassador Xie shared his insights into China's governance and worldwide development from four perspectives: China's opportunities, sense of responsibility, contributions, and China-U.S. relations. He pointed out that a China forging ahead will firmly join hands with other countries to seek common development; a China stepping up to its responsibilities will give a strong boost to human progress; a China with a global vision will actively promote the reform and improvement of global governance; and a confident and composed China is committed to the steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations. Ambassador Xie encouraged American friends from various sectors to decode the success of China's governance through the CPC's efforts to strengthen itself, vigorously promote mutual understanding and cooperation between China and the United States, and jointly ensure that the giant ship of China-U.S. relations will sail far and steadily, ushering in a brighter future for both countries and the world.
Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and President of CMG, delivered a video address. Robert Kuhn, Chairman of the Kuhn Foundation, Ronald Sakolsky, an American friend, and delegates of U.S. think tanks and youth representatives engaged in discussions on CPC governance and the global significance of China's governance. Minister Qiu Wenxing of the Chinese Embassy, Zhang Xin, Executive Deputy Chief of CMG's North America Bureau, and representatives of the U.S. strategic, business, media, and academic communities attended the event.
