The Chinese Embassy in the U.S. hosted an Open House presenting Shaanxi Province

On May 2, 2026, the Chinese Embassyin the United States hosted an open housepresenting Shaanxi Province. Ambassador Xie Feng delivered remarks. Fan Weibin, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress,delivered remarks to introduce Shaanxi. Minister Qiu Wenxing, MinisterTang Zhiwen and MinisterYin Haihong from the Chinese Embassy, as well as friends from various sectors in the United Statesand over7,000 local residents,attended the event.



In his remarks, Ambassador Xie said that Shaanxi carries the continuity of Chinese civilization, pays tribute to the striving spirit of the Chinese people, showcases the openness and inclusiveness of the Chinese nation, and records touching stories of China-U.S. friendship. For more than 5,000 years, the Chinese people have carried the torch generation upon generation, and created the world’s only uninterrupted civilization. Today, China has embarked on a new journey during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. It is taking solid steps to advance high-quality development, further deepening reform and opening-up on all fronts, and heading toward a brighter future.

Ambassador Xie pointed out that the China-U.S. relationship has come to another crossroads. The two sides need to look to the future, and explore a right way to get along with each other in the new era, so that bothpeoples and people around the world will lead better lives. Ambassador Xie welcomed more American friends to take advantage of China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy, visit the fascinating land of Shaanxi, and discover the rich splendor of China. Heencouraged more American businesses to actively participate in China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation, seize China’s opportunities, and share in global benefits. He also motivated more American teenagers to be part of the “50,000 in five years” initiative, strive to be envoys of goodwill, and foster amity between the two peoples.



Vice Chairman Fansaid that Shaanxi has long placed great emphasis on people-to-people exchanges with U.S. localities, continuously expanding and deepening cooperation in economy, trade, culture, tourism, and education. Fan also welcomed the American people to visit Shaanxi.

At the event, Shaanxi drum music and dance, intangible cultural heritage experience, and ancient Chinese games delighted the guests. Shaanxi delicacies such as liangpi(cold noodles), roujiamo(Chinese burger) and biangbiang noodles were highly popular among the guests. The special exhibition stands attracted a large number of guests to stop and visit.
