China to impose additional 34% tariffs on all US imports starting April 10
2025/04/04 10:11

China will impose an additional 34 percent tariff on all US-origin goods, based on the current applicable tariff rates, starting April 10, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced on Friday, in response to the US' "reciprocal tariffs" against Chinese imports to the US, announced on Wednesday US time, China Media Group reported.

The additional tariffs will take effect on April 10. Current bonded and tax reduction policies will remain unchanged, and the new tariffs will not be subject to exemptions, the announcement stated.

Goods that are shipped from their place of departure before April 10 and imported between April 10 and May 13 will not be subject to the additional tariffs specified in the announcement.

On April 2, 2025, the US government announced the imposition of so-called "reciprocal tariffs," including on Chinese goods. The Customs Tariff Commission stated that this move violates international trade rules, harms China's legitimate rights and interests, and exemplifies unilateral bullying.
