Xi Jinping Exchanges Messages of Congratulations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Ukraine Diplomatic Relations

On January 4, 2022, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out, since the establishment of diplomatic ties 30 years ago, China-Ukraine relations have always maintained a sound and stable development momentum. The two sides enjoy deepening political mutual trust, fruitful cooperation in various fields and even closer people-to-people and cultural exchanges, which have improved the well-being of the two peoples. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and   Ukraine have supported each other and worked together to fight the pandemic, demonstrating the profound friendship between the two peoples.

Xi Jinping stressed that I attach great importance to the development of China-Ukraine strategic partnership, and is ready to work with President Zelensky to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries as an opportunity to push for more results in China-Ukraine relations and bilateral cooperation in various fields, so as to bring benefits to the two countries and two peoples.

Zelensky said, since the establishment of diplomatic ties 30 years ago, Ukraine-China relations have maintained a positive development momentum with close exchanges at all levels and fruitful pragmatic cooperation. Ukraine is full of confidence in the broad prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, and stands ready to continuously deepen the traditional friendship between the two peoples, strengthen cooperation in various fields and push forward the Ukraine-China strategic partnership.
