The Chinese Embassy in the U.S. Held the “Flavors of China: From South to North” Culture Event

On July 20, 2024, the Chinese Embassy in the United States held the “Flavors of China: From South to North” Culture Event in partnership with “Things to Do DC” to present Chinese culinary culture festival. Minister Jing Quan attended the event and delivered remarks. More than 150 guests from local communities attended the event.



Minister Jing gave a vivid introduction about the culinary features of southern and northern China to the guests, noting the long history of Chinese cusines. The rich and diverse local cuisines coexist and thrive together, embodying the heart of the Chinese culture: "harmony through diversity" and "harmonious coexistence."



The guests tasted signature dishes from southern and northern China, observed the making of traditional Chinese desserts, enjoyed Chinese folk music and the face-changing art, and viewed art exhibits. They all spoke highly of Chinese cuisine, art, and architecture, marveled at the unique charm of Chinese culture, and hoped to explore more of the Chinese culture in future.
