On October 17th, the Chinese Embassy in the United States and the USCPFA jointly hosted a reception at the embassy to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the association's founding.
Minister Jing Quan reviewed the stabilization and positive developments in bilateral relations since the meeting between the two heads of state in San Francisco. He highlighted the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in various fields. Jing emphasized that both sides should continue to work together to promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-US relations on the basis of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation. The story of China-US relations is written by the people, and the future should be created by the people. Both sides should persist in doing the right thing, tirelessly promote people-to-people exchanges, and pass on the torch of China-US friendship from generation to generation.
Greer, President of the USCPFA, along with over 130 friendly individuals from across the United States, attended the event. Greer showcased over 40 precious historical photos that depicted the friendship between the American and Chinese people. She expressed that every member of USCPFA is an ambassador of friendship and that the association has made significant contributions to the normalization of US-China relations and the development of bilateral ties over the past 50 years. She hoped that the younger generation would continue to write a new chapter of US-China friendship and promote peaceful coexistence between the two great powers. The audience also enjoyed wonderful song and dance performances.
The USCPFA was founded in Los Angeles in 1974 and is one of the earliest US-based non-governmental organizations dedicated to promoting friendship with China.
