On September 1, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in the United States hosted the“Chinese Dance Salon”cultural event. Young dancers from Beijing Dance Academy offered a special performance. Minister Jing Quan attended and delivered remarks. More than 200 guests attended the event, including diplomats of the Embassy, Beijing delegation members, and friends from various sectors of local society.

In his brief speech, Minister Jing Quan said that the Chinese dance covers a wide range of styles and becomes broad and profound. It reflects the core elements of peace, concord and harmony of traditional and contemporary Chinese culture. Chinese dance and dancers have long been a bridge to promote cultural exchanges and enhance people-to-people friendship between China and other countries in the world, including the United States. We expect the Beijing delegation and young dancers’ visit to further enhance the sister city relationship between Beijing and Washington D.C., to promote exchanges and cooperation in areas of trade, education, culture and youth, to increase the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, so as to inject more positive energy to China-U.S. relationship.

The guests watched the wonderful dance performance and responded with warm applause for the Chinese excellent young dancers.
