On November 1, 2022, Minister Jing Quan was invited to visit Furman University in South Carolina, where he delivered a speech on China-US relations, had discussions with student representatives, and met with local community leaders.

Minister Jing said, the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China  has been successfully concluded, drawing up a blueprint for China's future development. The central task of China's development is to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization, and to meet the people’s aspirations for a better life. At the same time, China will remain firm in pursuing an independent foreign policy of peace, inject certainty into the world, maintain world peace and promote common development.

Minister Jing introduced the recent situation of China-US relations, and pointed out that China and the United States should regard each other as friends and partners rather than enemies and rivals, should cooperate for mutual benefits rather than decouple by breaking the links, should seek peace and stability rather than conflict and confrontation, and the two sides should strengthen dialogue and exchanges at all levels and in various fields to enhance understanding, mutual trust and respect.
