On June 3, Minister Xu Xueyuan held a video conference with Alabama Secretary of State John H. Merrill, and they had an in-depth exchange of views on China-U.S. relations and subnational exchanges and cooperation.

Minister Xu briefed Secretary Merrill about the recent development of China-U.S. relations, and stated China’s readiness to work with the United States to promote healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. China will continue to deepen reform and expand opening-up, and all states and cities of the U.S., including Alabama, and all sectors of American society are welcome to share in the vast opportunities of China’s market.

Secretary Merrill commented that the U.S.-China relationship is very important and the two sides should strengthen dialogue and exchanges to enhance mutual understanding. Alabama is ready to deepen cooperation with China in economy, trade, education, and people-to-people exchanges, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in Alabama.
