Remarks by Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in the US on the Ongoing Visit by Member of the US Congress to Taiwan
2022/05/30 18:07

Q: It is reported that Senator Duckworth arrived in Taiwan on May 30 for a visit. Do you have any comment?

A:The visit of the above-mentioned US senator to Taiwan gravely violates the One-China principle and the stipulations of the three Sino-US Joint Communiques. China firmly opposes this and has lodged stern representation with the US side. We urge the US side to earnestly abide by the One-China principle and the three Sino-US Joint Communiques, handle Taiwan-related issues in a cautious and proper way, stop all forms of official interactions with Taiwan and avoid sending wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, lest it should further undermine China-US relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
