On May 23, the new Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng, upon his arrival to begin the tenure, wrote a letter to the Chinese community in the United States to convey the hearty greetings and best wishes from the motherland.

    Ambassador Xie noted in the letter that the pursuit of national rejuvenation through a Chinese path to modernization is a boon to the Chinese people and to countries across the world. The Chinese community in the United States is a bridge that connects the two countries and has a stake in China-U.S. relations. China is committed to the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation put forward by President Xi Jinping, and wishes to work with the U.S. to explore the right way for the two countries to get along in the new era. “In this process, your support, involvement and contribution would be most valuable.” Xie said in the letter.

    Xie expressed welcome for the Chinese community in the U.S. to visit China often to experience the progress of the country and find opportunities there for self-fulfillment. Blood is thicker than water. Serving the Chinese nationals overseas and protecting their lawful rights and interests is what all Chinese diplomats must do and do well. Xie underscored that he and his colleagues in the Embassy will always be ready to help the Chinese nationals resolve difficulties and take concrete actions to foster more favorable conditions and environment for their work and life in the U.S.
