Ambassador Xie Feng, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the United States of America, arrived in the United States on May 23, 2023 to assume office.

    Upon arrival, Ambassador Xie and his wife were greeted by DCM of the Chinese Embassy Xu Xueyuan, Consul General in New York Huang Ping and other Chinese diplomats in the U.S.

    Ambassador Xie is the twelfth Chinese Ambassador to the United States. Prior to his ambassadorship to the U.S., he was Vice Foreign Minister of China. His predecessor, Ambassador Qin Gang, completed his tenure and returned to China in early January, 2023.
