On May 31, Ambassador Qin Gang held friendly talks with Mayor of Dallas Eric Johnson at the Dallas City Hall in Texas.
Mr. Johnson welcomed Ambassador Qin to Dallas and recalled his visit to China with fond memories. He said that Dallas is the fourth largest metropolis in the United States, with the focus of developing a more diverse economy and becoming more international. The city of Dallas is making efforts to promote more international economic, trade and cultural exchanges, and create a sound and safe environment for investors from all over the world to do business in Dallas.
Ambassador Qin spoke highly of Dallas' economic prosperity and dynamism. He said that with China's huge market and strong consumer demand, the opportunity and potential of cooperation between China and Dallas is huge. Ambassdor Qin expressed his hope that Dallas would increase the exchanges and cooperation with its sister city Tianjin and other Chinese cities in economy and trade, people-to-people and cultural engagement, and city governance, and promote more practical cooperation that will benefit both sides. Ambassador Qin also expressed welcome for Mayor Johnson to visit China again in the future.
